EARTHQUAKE PREPAREDNESS & OPLAN TAG-ULAN

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) in cooperation with the Local Government of Sison conducted a study, and as a result, fault lines were found within our municipality. Seven of our barangays were identified as shown in the fault line map, namely, Agat, Alibeng, Asan Norte, Calunetan, Inmalog, Labayug, and Sagunto respectively.

Together with our caring Mayor Danny C. Uy, joint efforts were made by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) represented by SFO1 Oliver Capistrano and SFO4 Rogelio Quezon, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management (MDRRM) represented by Mr. Virgilio dela Rosa, Municipal Planning and Development Office headed by Ms. Gloria Biason-Pugal, assisted by Ms. Ma. Joy Aurora Pagado-Julaton and Ms. Maria Cristina Garcia. They went out of their way to raise further earthquake awareness and preparedness to our fellow Sisonians in the affected barangays through a simultaneous orientation/symposium. Vice Mayor Edgar Jovenal and SB Members Perfecto Baoanan, Benson Aquino and Samson Murao also joined the team.

In addition to this, our Local Government is one with the “Oplan Tag-Ulan” program. By way of empowering our fellows to alleviate disaster-risks brought by rainy/typhoon seasons, safety measures before, during, and after calamities were also discussed.
