The Clean and Green drive in Sison commenced with a simultaneous tree planting activity in barangay Bulaoen West, Pinmilapil, and Pindangan on July 19, 2010. The activity is led by Mayor Mina Joy C. Pangasinan in an aim to protect the riverbanks from continues denudation that constantly threaten nearby houses and farmlands.

The ADOPT A SCHOOL PROGRAM encouraged by the Department of Education has reached the hearts of many constituents of Sison. In a simple ceremony, Sison Mayor, Hon. Mina Joy C. Pangasinan, partnered by Mr. Juanito Illana, Jr. inaugurated the new single room school library building in Cauringan Elementary School, Cauringan, Sison Pangasinan on July 21, 2010. The building is a donation from the Illana family.

SISON PNP WITH PANGASINAN INTEL APPREHEND PERSONS WITH STANDING ARREST WARRANTS

A joint manhunt performed by the Sison PNP led by PCI Rodolfo D. Castro and agents from the Provincial Intelligence Branch, Pangasinan Provincial Office, led to the arrest of persons with standing arrest warrants residing in Sison.

As per an order issued by the Pozorrubio Circuit Trial Court, the Sison police arrested theft suspects, Roberto Esquelon of Sitio Crusher, Barangay Labayug, and Joey De Vera of Sitio Gorgordion, Barangay Bila, in their residence on July 19, 2010. The bail for their temporary liberty is fixed at P10,000.00 each.

FAULTY 7.7M WORTH IRRIGATION CANAL ENRAGES FORMER CONGRESSMAN

Former Pangasinan 5th District Representative, Mr. Mark O. Cojuangco, was extremely infuriated over the faulty construction of a 7.7 million pesos worth of irrigation canal during his surprise inspection in Amagbagan on July 6, 2010. New mayor, Hon. Mina Joy C. Pangasinan, and the project engineers went with the former Congressman in his 2 kilometers walk along the irrigation canal that is intended to benefit the farmers of barangay Amagbagan, Camangaan, and Tara-tara. The funding for the project was extracted from the 120 million pesos tobacco excise tax that Mr. Cojuangco labored to release from the national government during his incumbency.

A flux in the stability of the Job Order employees in Sison was already felt even during the administration of the previous mayor, now 5th District Representative Kimi S. Cojuangco. The meager source of funding for either the retention or permanence of the Job Order employees caused reasons for the on and off suspensions of their work operations.

PGMA OPENS BUED BRIDGE

President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo formally opened the Bued Bridge in Barangay Agat, Sison, Pangasinan on June 21, 2010 after it was closed to traffic because of a major restoration activity. The bridge is the major link to the north and vice versa that sustained immense damage when two of its piers sank during the onslaught of typhoon Pepeng in 2009. The restoration project was implemented through the Department of Public Works and Highways’ President’s Bridge Program, in collaboration with the DPWH Region 1 and 3rd District Engineering Office of Pangasinan. The 525 linear meters project’s cost is Php120,367,434.00.

SISON PNP MANEUVERED 105-TON TUBE MILL THROUGH BUSY HIGHWAY

Through the direct supervisionof Police Chief Inspector Rodolfo Castro, Jr., the Sison PNP managed to successfully slide a 105-ton Tube Mill through the National Highway. The tube mill was 20.5 meters long and 5.4 meters in diameter. The distance from its starting point in Barangay Agat to the drop-off point Paldit is approximately 4 kilometers. A new farm tool from the municipal government of Sison was recently turned over to the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) under the astute supervision and headship of Mrs. Belinda Villanueva in Pajara, Bila.
