The new Sison Mayor, Hon. Mina C. Joy Pangasinan, took her oath of office publicly at the Yellow Nipa Hut on June 28, 2010. The young lawyer by profession took the stand with dignity as she recited her vow in front of the administering official, her predecessor and newly elected Pangasinan 5th District Representative, Hon. Kimi S. Cojuangco, and the many people that consisted mostly of municipal employees, Department of Education officials, barangay officials, school heads both from the private and public, the PNP, the different municipal and barangay associations, and constituents of Sison.

The oath-taking activity is not a mere display of tradition but an official procedure for all re-elected and newly elected officials in affirming their commitment to God and the people before they assume their government positions.
