The original Sisonians came from various places like La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Benguet, other parts of Pangasinan, Tarlac, and other places who migrated to the place and had intermarriages. The people of the place are peace-loving people who preferred working in the field, the very reason why they had established residences in interior barangays, meaning away from the national highway. But, as years passed, as a result of urbanization and linkages with other urban areas in the province and other regions, more and more people are establishing their residences and putting up commercial establishments along the highway.

At present however, a local research team was formed to conduct an intensive and comprehensive research to determine the factual history and early beginnings of Sison.

As it is today, the early Sisonians were dependent on farming for livelihood. The rich land and water resources of the municipality provided the basic means for livelihood, hence, the local leaders that had served Sison in its early existence concentrated their agenda in the development of agriculture-related infrastructures, to include as well the provision of farm machineries and equipment, irrigation and post-harvest facilities, and opening/maintenance/ upgrading of farm-to-market roads, among others.
